28-08-2020

Recently the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) announced that the European Barge Inspection Scheme (EBIS) will transition to OCIMF’s Ship Inspection Report Programme (SIRE) from 1 January 2021, creating a single barge inspection scheme within Europe.

Commenting on the move, Wilco Stroet, managing director at Lankhorst Ropes said, “Lankhorst welcomes Europe’s barge owners to the OCIMF. The creation of a single standard for barges operating in Europe will ensure a consistent high standard for inland shipping vessels and operators.
