New splice for Strongline®

The Strongline® is widely used in towing operations and in a minor extend for mooring applications. The properties of Strongline® make it a very reliable and durable product. However, the construction is insuch way that the traditional splice makes the ending of the rope a stiff and heavy section.

Lankhorst Ropes has developed a completely new splice which is called A3®. This splice, being laid in the eye in stead of the main line, offers unprecedented properties.

There is no rope enlargement, no weight increase and the rope remains it shape and flexibility until the crouch of the eye. Furthermore, the splice is strong and offers no loss in strength (normally up to 10% loss is accounted for).

The A3® splice has 100% efficiency and improves significantly the ease of handling on board and thus the safety level. The storage on the drum is neat and efficient.

Please contact our salesmen for further information, we will be happy to update you.

Euroneema® becomes Lankoforce®

This is a name change only. The specifications of the former Euroneema® ropes are exactly the same as those of the Lankoforce® ropes.

Lankhorst Ropes has decided for this name change as we wanted to bring the Euroneema® product into the Lanko-family, which signifies STRONG & LIGHT. The breaking strength and the ropes own weight balanced. The Dyneema® yarns applied are the best strength to weight ratio available in the market. Hence the Lankoforce® ropes made with Dyneema® yarns are among the strongest ropes in the world compared to its own weight.

Recognizable size of Tipto Twelve®

Tipto Twelve® ropes in the range from 32 mm up to 48 mm have been upgraded with an extra marker yarn. The rope size can now easily (and above all without mistake) be identified.

Green = 32 mm Black = 40 mm White = 48 mm
Brown = 36 mm Blue = 44 mm

Improved identification of our ropes

The identification of our ropes has been approved. We have been applying an unique code to all our high performance ropes on a tracer inside the rope for many years. However, this tracer is not always easy to find in a rope that is still in good condition. We have therefore repeated the unique code on a red sleeve in each eye. This code will also be mentioned on the factory certificates. In this way, the ropes in use and the corresponding certificate on board should be undisputed. Our factories commenced this system since the summer of 2009.

File written by Adobe Photoshop   Since 2009 our synthetic ropes are supplied with an outside label with a warning about safe lifting of the products.
