Steelwire Ropes for Mooring and Lifting

21 February 2012
Steelwire rope is ideal for hoisting, lifting, mooring, towing, hatch-opening and lashing, for example, Lankhorst Ropes has a high quality, steelwire rope for your application.

Lankhorst Ropes has many years experience of wire ropes. Our range includes the market quality leading 16 strand, LANKO®FLEX and
LANKO®PACK multi-strand, non-rotating hoisting wire ropes, making them ideal for use on European type of cranes. The LANKO®PACK 35 strand-compacted construction  gives the wire rope added breaking strength. LANKO®FOUR, on the other hand, is a 4 strand, non-rotating, hoisting wire rope for cranes such as Fukishima and IHI.

LANKO®LIFT compacted features a HDPE extruded cover, giving the wire rope greater stability, avoiding point-to-point contact between wires of the outer and inner strands and stops corrosion  and wear of the core.

LANKO®TOP and LANKO®TOP compacted are 8 strand luffing wire rope. In addition to a HDPE extruded cover, the compacted wire contains a higher steel content giving the rope greater strength and better abrasion resistance due to a larger contact area between wire rope and sheave.

TIPTOP® Combi, is another coated wire, the 6 strand wire / fibre combination rope with an independent steel core and white marketing yarn. Mainly used as a tanker mooring rope, the galvanized strand wires are covered by blue polypropylene yarns.

Standard wire ropes range from 19X7, 6X36, 6X24, 6X19, and 7X7, covering applications as diverse as lifting, ferries, barge and tanker mooring, luffing and coupling push barges. In accordance with OCIMF recommendations for steel wire rope mooring lines, Lankhorst supplies EUROFLEX® mooring tails with equal breaking strength under wet and dry conditions.
